2012 Annual Report
Here’s what happened in 2012!
Artistic Director: Jackie Latendresse
We began the year with a bang performing part of the Great Mystery Project at Lugo at the Mendel art gallery on January 14th followed shortly by a special appearance at the Avenue community centre Cabaret Show March 31st. On April 29th Free Flow hosted its annual International Dance Day celebration as well as performed at the Dance Saskatchewan Centre event.
Back Alley Antics took place on June 16th and featured our new work 3 Monkeys which took place on a 5 story fire escape stairwell. The event featured many other local dance and performance artists.
On July 19th the company presented a showing of Danny Grossman's Triptych as a part of the AKA Gallery Art Walk and hosted a very successful talk back afterwards with the local art community.
Excerpts from “Crave” a new 28 minute work created by Artistic Director Jackie Latendresse were performed at three performances of Dance on the Saskatchewan hosted by Dance Saskatchewan Inc at the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan stage in August and the company was fortunate to work with choreographer Graham McKelvie to develop a new work called “postcards from the last summer.” To round out the year Free Flow Dance Theatre were special guests at the Rosebud Christmas Spectacular at the Refinery Theatre.
