Free Flow Feb 2005 Update
A new year has begun and of course new projects are under way.
The New Year 10 Year Anniversary Party was very successful and a great reunion for many.
It was wonderful to see previous company members again and of course our oldest and dearest fans and supporters as well!
It was absolutely heartwarming to see many people who have been involved with the company in some form or another since the first shows in 1995!
There are some pics in the web site gallery already but if you happen to have any good shots please send them my way and we will be sure to put them up.
Back in Saskatoon I have been busy teaching at the University as well as running modern classes and the performing company.
We have been rehearsing heavily over the past months to prepare our new production Dreamscape.
I have enjoyed remounting old favorites of mine such as Half Naked (yes the infamous sleeping bag piece),
Same Time (Laurie Anderson story) and a small piece of sky (performed with blindfolds).
I am also looking forward to the premiere of “to dream…” and “Navras” our two newest creations.
These will feature at the Her-icane GoDiva Festival and the Saskatoon Fringe Theatre Festival 2005.
Free Flow turns 10 years old this year!
Celebrate Contemporary Dance with us this year by joining us at one of our many events.
See our upcoming events page for show and class details or join our email list by dropping us a note!
As a part of our 10 year celebration the company will be performing selected pieces from the repertoire from our 1st season in 1995 alongside of two new works.
We have also created a retrospective film which showcases short parts of many of the works we have presented over the past decade which has already been featured in Toronto at the Free Flow Dance Theatre Anniversary Gala as well as at the Dance Saskatchewan Centre in Saskatoon.
It will be presented on International Dance day along with a live demo on April 29th at the Phillip Morrison Library in Saskatoon.

I am beginning a teaching contract at North Park Wilson school this month which will include 8 dance workshops with every grade in the school (K to 8)
We will be creating pieces surrounding the topic of the River.
It is a large scale project yet should be fun despite the challenges!
The Vaudeville project is going full steam ahead!
I have been working intensively in studio for the past month laying the foundation for the choreography as well as working with musicians and designers.
Personnel on board for the project include: Arijanna Bacalo – costume design, Mark Eriksson, set and prop design, Musicians include: Suzanne Paschall,Tom Dahl, Jessi More, Orion Paradis, Lou Latendresse and more.
Kathleen Oudit is working on Marketing and design for the project.
Auditions are being held on March 6th for dancers and already there are calls coming in!
The grant is for creation purposes only so you will all have to wait until next year to actually see the production but it promises to be well worth the wait!
Well as usual I could go on and on writing this update but for now I will keep it short. I hope the spring finds you all well! I look forward to hearing from you so keep in touch!
