W.I.P. GALA Sponsorship
The W.I.P (Works in Progress) New Dance Series is an annual presentation by Free Flow Dance Theatre Inc., a leading edge non-profit dance company known for its innovative and risk-taking modern choreography.
The W.I.P series, now in its 12th year, consists of two in-studio showcases of 4-5 new choreographed dance works, audience feedback, mentorship opportunities, workshops and our spectacular W.I.P Gala event. In line with its philosophy, the W.I.P Series nourishes community with dance that is ground breaking, fun and accessible to all. From June to December, Saskatoon comes alive with this series of new dance works from talented choreographers and dancers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and beyond.
The objective of the W.I.P New Dance Series is threefold:
- To enrich the local community by presenting cutting-edge dance, performance and art to a region that is isolated and often overlooked;
- To help grow a local tradition of performance support by creating a space for contemporary dance to take root, develop and flourish, as well as encouraging a conversation to develop between artist and audience;
- To stimulate the local economy with an infusion of activity and creative partnerships.
We are pleased to announce that for 2015, the performances will be held on June 20th W.I.P Gala is held in conjunction with our 3 day celebration of dance in November at The Refinery Theatre in the Broadway District. The W.I.P events are the most prominent dance presentations of the year for Free Flow Dance. Your involvement will help us to continue to nurture and celebrate contemporary dance through this innovative series that supports and promotes a diversity of talented emerging and professional choreographers. and September 19th
This year’s W.I.P presentations will feature some of the top choreographers and dancers from the local, provincial and Canadian arts community. We are excited that Artistic Director, Jackie Latendresse, will be directing the program of dance works as well as premiering a new work celebrating the Free Flow Dance Company’s 20 year anniversary!
The W.I.P. Series is possible, in part, because of the generous spirit of the many artists and community members who are involved. But we need your support to help ensure this program continues to flourish and evolve.
Your sponsorship contribution goes directly to pay the artistic performance fees and facility costs for the performance events. It will also help support the promotional efforts that spread the word about the W.I.P Series to the wider community. Lastly, your support will help to keep the ticket prices affordable, so that many people can take advantage of what the series has to offer.
Thank you for your time and generosity. I hope that you will support the W.I.P Gala, and by extension, the development of diverse arts programming in our community. We look forward to sharing this enriching year of artful engagement with you in 2015!
