Works in Progress New Dance Series

We are pleased to announce that the second showing of the 2018 W.I.P. New Dance Series will take place on Saturday September 22nd at the Free Flow Dance Centre with a new selection of choreographers. The choreographers featured in the September W.I.P. performance include: Free Flow Dance Theatre – Saskatoon, Newton Moraes, Emilio Colatillo, Shannon Litzenberger and Aria Evans – Toronto, Mitchell Larsen, Danica Lorer and Ryan Bradshaw - Saskatoon.
This series is designed to provide a venue for both emerging and professional choreographers who are working in the area of contemporary and innovative choreography and is open to all dance artists in both the province of Saskatchewan and across Canada. The performance will present up to 4 different choreographers. The showings are open to the public and will take place at The Free Flow Dance Centre 224 25th St. W. Saskatoon.

Brain Body Connection Workshops
Join Free Flow Dance Theatre and our special guest instructors for two FREE movement based workshops on Sunday September 23rd at the Free Flow Dance Centre 224 25th St. W.
Schedule
1:00- 2:15 pm Shannon Litzenberger and Aria Evans from Toronto
Movement, in conversation
In this workshop, dance artists Aria Evans and Shannon Litzenberger will guide an exploration of language and movement in space. We will practice using action words to create movement, and explore strategies for bringing our moving bodies into ethical relationship with others. We will practice interpreting and describing movement in real time, as well as experiment with framing our bodies in action as a way of inviting new ways of seeing and experiencing each other.
2:30- 3:30 pm Newton Moraes from Toronto
Workshop by Newton Moraes
Explorations in finding your own voice using rhythms, using Brazilian and contemporary movements.
Dancers of all ages are invited to attend these professional development workshops free of charge. We hope you will join us at the performance the evening before to view all new original choreography by our participating artists.
