The W.I.P. New Dance Series
2018 Season of Contemporary Works in Progress
Saturday June 16th 7:30pm doors, 8:00 show
Free Flow Dance Centre 224 25th St. W. Saskatoon
Tickets: $20.00 available at the door at 7:30pm

We are pleased to announce that the first showing of the 2018 W.I.P. New Dance Series will take place on Saturday June 16th at the Free Flow Dance Centre with a new selection of choreographers.
This series is designed to provide a venue for both emerging and professional choreographers who are working in the area of contemporary and innovative choreography and is open to all dance artists in both the province of Saskatchewan and across Canada. The performance will present up to 4 different choreographers. The showings are open to the public and will take place at The Free Flow Dance Centre 224 25th St. W. Saskatoon.
The choreographers featured in the June W.I.P. performance include: Holly Treddenick (Toronto), Jackie Latendresse (Saskatoon), Tina Bertoncini (Saskatoon) Lily Gillman and Lila Jean Dezall (Calgary) The Series mentor is Graham McKelvie (Director of the Contemporary dance program at the Alberta Ballet in Calgary)
The most important aspect of this new series is YOU! Yes it is the audience. You will get a chance to meet the choreographers and hear them speak about their work. Each choreographer will ask the audience for certain types of feedback that they feel will be instrumental to helping them further develop their work. The work will then be presented to you and afterwards you will be given a few moments to jot down your observations, comments, criticisms or even doodles are welcome! This audience feedback will be collected at the end of the performance and distributed to the choreographers.
The W.I.P. is the first series of its kind in Saskatchewan and is fast becoming a staple in Saskatchewan’s Dance Diet! So everybody get W.I.P. ed! If you would like to help out by volunteering for the series or for more info or interviews please contact Jackie Latendresse at 665-5998 or by email at freeflowdance@hotmail.com
Thank you to our sponsors! The Series is supported by The Free Flow Dance Theatre Company, Canada Council for the Arts, Affinity Credit Union and the Saskatchewan Arts Board.

BACK ALLEY ANTICS 2017 – CALL FOR PERFORMERS
Free Flow Dance Theatre Company is going to be coordinating another guerilla type arts event this summer called Back Alley Antics 12 and we are looking for people who are interested in getting involved. The date will be Saturday July 14th gathering our audience at 6:30pm with a walking tour starting at 7pm. The event will take place in the 33rd Street Business District area this year!

Here is the basic idea:
Back Alley Antics- a site specific show of strange and wonderful dance and other performance based art forms that takes place in various locations in the back alley ways in Saskatoon. (map of the designated area will be provided to interested parties)
Audience members will be invited to gather at a designated spot at 6:30pm and will be given a map which they will follow “en masse” to the first performance location, they will travel to the next spot and find another performance and then continue to follow the map seeing various things along the way until they reach the end performance.
On our end, we are looking for dance, music, performance art, circus arts, theatre, spoken word and more to be featured at various locations. Groups should scout out their own location (email freeflowdance@hotmail.com for map details)
We would like you to be as creative as possible when choosing a location! Remember that this is an underground, unofficial type of event and you will need to sort out any power sources etc you will need for your performance. We do have a good relationship with local business and will help you out if you encounter any minor logistical or space usage problems. This is an unpaid "free" event however we will be taking donations at the end of the event which will go towards the operation of Free Flow Dance Theatre Company Inc.
Artist fees may be made available if we secure a corporate sponsor but are not confirmed at this time.
All acts should be approx. between 5 and 10 min long. Please NOT longer than 10 minutes!!!!
If you are interested in participating please contact me at freeflowdance@hotmail.com.
