Physical Howl is a guided movement that is accompanied by vocalization. The added use of sound being expelled further enables for the practising bodies to release tension.
It begins softly; fluidly discovering the soft tissues of the anatomy. Vocalisation is added slowly, instinctually and only once the mover is ready. As we explore larger movements, and the body becomes warmer participants will be guided to play with a variety of sounds. It is a joyful approach to expelling anxiety and tension brought on by so many life events. Once the body becomes more enlivened the voice comes more naturally which creates a wonderfully harmonious, non-judgemental conversation between the body and mind.
The practice incorporates some of the Somatic work I have studied through Anne Troake and Tedi Tafel over a span of 20 years
