Dancing across the universe

Brain Body Connection Caitlin Coflin

Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Professional and emerging dancers are welcome to attend either in-person (please register as such) or the online zoom platform-based Brain-Body Connection Professional Development Series hosted by Free Flow Dance Theatre free of charge. If you would like and can afford to make a donation to support the future of the company please do! We are pleased to host this series of workshops with the support of the Community Initiative Fund and Sasktel.
Laban/Bartenieff into Dance is rooted in the framework developed by Rudolf Laban and expanded by his student Irmgard Bartenieff. The workshop will begin on the floor introducing participants to Bartenieff’s Basic 6 + 2 series. These exercises help participants to turn inward and tune into their patterns of movement. We will progress to moving in space by exploring Laban’s approach to effortful movement and how we can find greater variation and dynamic qualities in our movement choices.
Please bring a yoga mat or something similar to lay on.
